David Burbano - Director/Founder
Piano, drums, cello , and ensembles
Mr. Burbano was born in Colombia where he studied orchestration and piano at Universidad Javeriana and finished his studies at Universidad de Antioquia, where he obtained his Bachelors Degree. He also holds a Masters Degree in Film Orchestration from University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
He has played piano for over 25 years. He has played at numerous events all over South America. He is also known for his prestigious compositions and orchestration arrangements for films in Mexico, Colombia, and Argentina. He has over 20 years of teaching experience. His passion for music has inspired his students to achieve their dreams in music and continue their careers in different conservatories and universities.
Diana Jimenez - Instructor
Piano, voice, and violin
Ms. Jimenez was born in Colombia. She moved with her family to Houston, TX when she was a kid. She grew up singing in choirs, ensembles, and with her family in different churches and events. As a young teenager her vocal training was classical and through the years she progressed to pop and contemporary music. She has led contemporary worship services at different churches.
She has been teaching piano and voice for the past 7 years, and violin for the past 3 years. She cites as her main musical influence her mentor and instructor BCC Director David Burbano. She also studied with voice instructor, opera singer Frances Fenton. She studied piano with Janice Lee and Jeff Holzaephol. She has won awards in numerous solo, ensemble and choral competitions.
Vivian Burbano - Assistant Director/Co-Founder
VOICE AND PIANO
Mrs. Burbano was born in Colombia. She studied at University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX, where she obtained her BA and MLA with an emphasis in Music - Vocal Performance. She has performed in several voice recitals, opera workshops, Opera in the Heights Chorus, master classes, choirs, singing competitions, and currently as the lead singer at Bethany Christian Church Choir.
Teaching has become one of her greatest passions. She has been teaching voice at different Houston area schools for the past 10 years. She is experienced in classical, musical/broadway, jazz, sacred and contemporary worship music.
Joseph Booth - Instructor
guitar, bass, ukulele, and trumpet
Mr. Booth was born in Webster, TX, and grew on the Gulf Coast. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Stephen F. Austin St. University in Nacogdoches, TX, where he studied classical and jazz guitar as well as contemporary worship music at Nacogdoches Bible Fellowship. During his time there he began teaching private lessons through the SFA Music Preparatory House. Currently he teaches lessons at Music and Arts in Alvin, TX. He has been playing guitar for 15 years and has also composed some works for the instrument. He has performed at hundreds of events and many recitals, An important mentor who influenced his life is Teacher of Classic Guitar John Calderon, who teaches adjunct at several locations around this area; he inspired him to continue to pursue a career in music.
